Silhouette Soft Facelift

A lift without surgery…

Silhouette Soft is a technological innovation offering women and men a minimally invasive way of reshaping their face and restoring volume by means of a 40-minute treatment within a clinical environment.

Silhouette Soft provides state of the art suspension via a suture and true technological innovation that opens up a new era in aesthetic medicine as the technique leaves no scars and can be successfully used for all areas of the face and neck,  resulting in a fresher and younger look. Recovery time is minimal and you can quickly go back to your full social and work life activities.

This non-surgical treatment comes in the form of resorbable sutures with resorbable bidirectional cones. These are made in the United States and their development was based on six years of experience in suture suspension with cones used in reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery.

In the 3 years sine this innovative treatment has been made available more than 130 000 treatments have been carried out worldwide.

At Cosmedicare we are proud to offer this procedure at The Edinburgh Clinic by our Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon, Mr Stuart Hamilton. Mr Hamilton recently received a fantastic review of his offering in The Daily Record, both for his results and for holding the position of the only Consultant Plastic Surgeon accredited to offer this treatment in Edinburgh.

Silhouette Soft can be used to treat different parts of the face:

  • Contours of the face,
  • jaw line,
  • cheeks and mid face areas,
  • eyebrows,
  • neck

During the procedure:

After a small injection of local anesthetic, Mr Hamilton inserts the suture under the skin to a depth of about five millimeters.

No incision is required, as the suture is inserted using a fine needle. It is held in place with resorbable cones oriented in opposite directions (bidirectional).

Once the suture has been applied, Mr Hamilton performs slight compression of the tissue to reshape it by hand and to obtain the desired lifting effect. The non-inserted ends of the suture are cut off. One or more sutures may be applied, depending on the patient and treated area.

Following the procedure:

After the treatment, a slight bruising may occur. Sometimes, a slight depression or skin irregularity may appear at the entry points. These inconveniences disappear a few days after treatment.

You will be prescribed an antibiotic cream to apply on the entry and exit points of the sutures twice a day (in the morning and in the evening for 5 days)

Apply cold packs immediately after the procedure if required (Cold packs should be wrapped to avoid direct contact with skin and insertion point)

  • Take analgesia e.g. paracetamol in case of pain (2-3 days)
  • Refrain from applying make-up for as long as possible (minimum 24 hours)
  • Sleep face up, in an elevated position on pillows (3-5 nights)
  • Wash, shave and dry face gently without rubbing or massaging (5 days)
  • Avoid excessive face and neck movements (2 weeks)
  • Avoid over-exposure to direct sunlight and do not use tanning beds (2 weeks)
