Mr. Raju Pareek is an experienced Consultant General & Upper GI Surgeon, currently practising at University Hospital Wishaw, and now consulting privately at Cosmedicare St. Ellen’s Hospitals.
With more than three decades of surgical experience across the UK and internationally, Mr. Pareek has built a strong reputation for his expertise in laparoscopic (keyhole) and endoscopic surgery. He regularly performs a wide range of elective and emergency procedures, with specialist interests in:
- Laparoscopic hernia repairs – including complex incisional hernias
- Abdominal wall reconstruction
- Hiatus hernia repair
- Gallbladder surgery (cholecystectomy and bile duct exploration)
- Upper & lower GI endoscopy – diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
He is JAG-certified in both gastroscopy and colonoscopy, accredited to perform Bowel Screening Colonoscopies, and also trains other surgeons in advanced endoscopic techniques.
Academic & Teaching Roles
Alongside his surgical practice, Mr. Pareek is deeply committed to medical education. He is a Clinical and Educational Supervisor for surgical trainees and an Examiner for medical students, supporting the next generation of surgeons through structured teaching, mentorship, and skills training.
He has also delivered laparoscopic and hernia surgery workshops internationally, chaired scientific sessions, and presented widely at national and global conferences.
Research & Publications
Mr. Pareek has a long-standing research interest in stem cell therapy and regenerative medicine, particularly focused on hepatocyte regeneration in end-stage liver disease.
